Kia Ora,

 

I am finishing up at my current place of employment in a few weeks. I've been here 5 years so planning on a leaving thing.

 

Not planning anything special, will be Friday after work (to make it easier for people to come). Just considering venues. Criteria being:

 

1. Walking distance to SKYCITY

 

2. Decent drink prices

 

3. OK food

 

4. Able to get a table/book tables

 

 

 

Current options are: Blue Stone Room, Ellice Rd, Albion, Sweatshop

 

 

 

Any other suggestions?

Not sure about their drink pricing, but Midnight Express has always impressed me (multiple Geekzone meets, kid free weekend dates, wifes 40th) - food and service always top notch - http://www.cafemidnightexpress.co.nz/

 

Right across road from Sky City.

A vote for my fave pub Brewer's Co-Operative here.  Great beer selection, reasonable prices, tasty fish-and-chips, burgers, etc.  Corner Victoria and Nelson Sts (opposite the Empire Tavern and TVNZ).

Yeah a good place - was considered but is absolutely packed and small on a Friday though.

+ 1 for Midnight Express, Blue Stone room is also good. Shakespeare Hotel has an upstairs area you can book with plenty of tables and verandah.
