Need to get a trim while Im up visiting fams.

Want somebody half decent but not $25, I can walk into any hair dresser for that price. I do like the fact Auck offers such amazing barbers though, is a lot like Aus now, but maybe slightly better.

In 1998 I use to walk into a Barber in Bris, Id be seated in a leather button seat, offered a Whiskey or drink of my choice and wait for a very qualified barber who would give me lemon grass hot towel facial after completion, $15.

Surely a decent barber wouldn't be around for very long if he was cheap...

Trainee's - they're cheap!

Good barbers earn what they are worth from my experience.

1998 was almost 20 years ago. Hairdressers in Wellington charge $40 to $60 for a standard mens cut, barbers can be had for significantly less, but don't tend to take bookings and I'm impatient.

I'd be happy to find someone who could do a proper flat top at any price!

Inflation was probably the wrong way to explain it.  Reality might have been better...

my hair dresser charges $20 for a mens haircut, I have told her she should be atleast $25-30 but she wont put the price up as she doesn't want to disappoint her clients.

I usually take her a coffee and a cake to make up for what I should be paying!

I'd have to say I wasn't impressed when I used them, but I get a less popular haircut and they didn't get it right.

The barbershop takapuna is good if you get one of the Samoan boys.
Mensworks in the city was my old frequent as a friend owned the business. Still a great place to go. Free beer booking only.
Brotherhood at smales farm is another go to of mine. Free beer and good location.
