Free shipping came up as an option for my amazon order....haven't seen this before and not sure the qualifying criteria.

Good deal too, torpedo7 advertises these for $549 (currently on special for $412 tho), landed cost from amazon is $255. Huge savings in whatever case.

If you buy in USD, even on an NZD credit card, you usually save a little more. I tried it.

Interesting about the shipping. Maybe for high value stuff.

Amazon prepay all taxes so the cart price shown is the final price paid and delivered.

Cheers.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

That isn't quite true. They only appear to collect tax when it is near the $400 NZD (including shipping) value, (where the $60 GST would put it over the $60 collection threshold), but clothing (including footwear) has an additional duty, and customs will collect GST/import fees at around the $227 NZD mark on footwear as that is the mark where with the additional duty, it is put over the $60 threshold for collection.

I have to buy shoes there to get a decent fit for the spouse so this all is worth knowing.

Everything I can find on Amazon for Free GlobalShipping only mentions Mexico and Singapore

"If your order is at least $65 and being shipped to Mexico or at least $125 and being shipped to Singapore, you may qualify for FREE AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping."
