I have this on right now, background, while I read GZ. Some of the goods look great. But I'd hate to buy based on these ads in case they are generally low end quality and/or not as good as advertised. I guess I can Google reviews

Seems a good way to get some nifty and useful products at a nifty price

KitchenAid NZ$2299 Cook Processor is on at the moment I assume thats the same as Thermomix.

(TVSN and Shopping Channel on Sky) Haven't looked if there are Freeview based ones

LOL, yep. I just turned TV on, scanning channels and there was a product I was interested in. But your right. having said that though, its a good way to see products and a lengthy review of them.

What gets me is that that item is $1999 in AU.

Bose items are also more expensive in NZ...just shows that some of these high qual companies are ripping off kiwi's.

As far as TVSN goes I have purchased several items over the last year and am happy with the price and the service.

I know its an ad, but its a LONG ad, so plenty to see of what the product can do, is what I meant. I would look for online reviews over quality issues later though.

Ok, putting aside the inferiority complex I now have.... the issue is, is this a good option to check out and buy? Pumpedd seems to think so.

I could buy a product from a webpage ad, or see an ad somewhere, at least the shopping channel version is a lengthy demo of it.

Will I watch these channels? No, never have, never will, but I will scan the EPG top see whats on offer, just in case.

Lots of things are more expensive here, some for explicable reasons, some less so.

Running shoes: US$100 there, US$200 here.

Tyres: A good 40% more than US or Europe and in some cases much more. My late father once put 4 new Continentals on a Mercedes SL600 in the UK for less than the cost of a single Continental for my Audi in NZ.

Levis: I bought them for US$40 a pair in LA last year - over $150/pair in Wellington.

Agree, and it is not always due to NZ being a small country. Going on holiday in Samoa, and it was surprising the number of things that were cheaper in Samoa than NZ.

Dont believe everything they say....treat it like just another shop....if its something you need and the price is OK....then buy it. They also have good payment terms.

IMO its a very good source of functionality. Its an ad, yes, but it itemises a lot of functional detail. More than a shop or box. If keen, then online reviews by pros or amateurs to recheck

According to my sister (a chef) Kitchen Aid make high quality product, but it ain't cheap.  I know her Kitchen Aid cake mixer is >13 years old.

Lots of places sell Kitchen Aid products so it might be worth a look around to check price.
