Again, feedback is only as good as the person placing it. Which is what concerns me. Red faces are actually a countdown to getting account disabled. Placing a note underneath outlinning the reason why trade soured only helps those few who do take time to read it.

Getting blackmailed by one bidder who placed bad feedback, because I would not refund her. On her feedback is the receipt number for Parcel post tracked and the claim form. Post office would not refund as she never sent back any of the forms mailed out to her.Post office had a date and time when parcel was delivered.

It was a waste of time, it is clear in the emails that I did a print screen of and saved to "My Photos" for TM to read, that yeah, " Sorry you had this problem" parc<

There needs to be something put in place regarding tm. Zillion is fab. Unfortunately, selling things on there can be quite difficult, as I see the same items for sale over and over again.(Relisted).

TM needs to take better care of genuine sellers out there whom are getting a hard time from buyers who do not read auctions properly. Especially when delivery days are stated as once a week, then bidder buys item and demands item immediately.

Track and trace, does not mean immediate delivery??????

Buy Now does not mean, you have to pay straight away?????????

So many misconceptions on TM.

Do well on TM. Zillion just doesn't have the traffic TM have:o(

I read that whole thing and I still don't know what your point is, other than trying to drive traffic to zillion.  if there's one thing I can't stand it's trying to sell one businesses service by defaming anothers.  so annoying.

Since the thread topic is titled 'feedback', I'd just like to add that...

On eBay now, sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers who have paid.

This makes sense in that, a seller can't retaliate with neutral or negative feedback, should the buyer leave fair and factual comments relating to the transaction.

How do they deal with non-paying buyers/buyers who pull out of the trade?

This is an interesting topic - regardless of the suspicion this could be an "ad" for the competition.

I had 100% good feedback on Trade Me. One day someone from Rotorua clicked on "Buy Now" in one of my auctions. A week after they contacted me to say they had deposited the payment - including a screenshot of the Internet banking transaction - and asked me to send the goods.

I replied saying I would wait for the payment to clear. It didn't show up in my bank so I contacted them to ask if they really completed the transaction. They then told me something went wrong, they were out of money and if I could accept the payment in installments.

On a third contact they told me they were expecting to sell something else to make the money to pay me, so I cancelled the transaction and put a negative feedback saying they never completed the transaction.

What did I get? They posted back a negative feedback on my account saying I was being grumpy.

So, someone trying to scam me out of my property lies on Trade Me leaving me with a negative feedback - one that Trade Me refused to remove.

So, yes, in my opinion Trade Me feedback is a farce. If you see someone with lots of good feeback you cannot be sure it is for real, or just the other people  being afraid of posting negative feedback in fear of reprisal from idiots.

agreed. I have had probably about 5 trades where I have wanted to put negative or neutral feedback on people but decided to put none at all due to not wanting bad feedback in return. I'm currently at 260 odd trades without any negative or nuetral feedback. Only time I received bad feedback was when some one put it on by mistake then changed it to good.

I had a problem where I bought a cd which was conterfeit - very obviously as CD was labelled one thing but had the complete wrong album on it, I emailed the guy saying this and asked for a refund.

After no reply contacted both TM and the Piracy Commission and gave him bad feedback. I had bought three CDs off him so he was then able to give me Three frowns and said I was "trying it on" and had never even emailed him asking for a refund.
So because of him I look bad :( at least they now let you comment on to explain your side.

How do they deal with non-paying buyers/buyers who pull out of the trade?

eBay has several dispute processes for, Items not received, Unpaid items, etc.

Trade Me could learn a thing or two just by poking around eBay's features or reading their Help section.

Edit- actually, if you read the eBay Help section on Feedback, they have a fairer system for buyers who receive negative feedback on situations described (above).

I am the same. I get weary of placing feedback now. Especially those that don't pay or contact you. On one of my auctions TM did send out a warning to one bidder, as I had placed blue face on her for non payment and or contact, on my auction she said, "YOURS IS COMMING.YOU BLUEFACE ME I'LL RED YOU.

I direct TM to this auction and next thing I know she is still trading. I thought it was a form of blackmail. Thought you couldn't.

Just need a fairer feedback system. I am unsure about ebay not letting bidders know that something soured between buyers and seller. I don't see how that is justified, unless they too were having people placing random feedback on sellers for no good reason whatsover.

But then, if you reach a certain percentage, before being disabled, you can always cancel and re apply???

No, not an ad for the other one. Can't even sell things on there. Just a tm gripe. I thought I would give the other site a go, but, well,um, havn't sold a darn thing.

TM I generate 20 sales a week, not bad, considering I sell between 25 and 30 items.

Just went to go and edit on TM, and now your only allowed to edit auctions 3-4 times.

If an auction is not going well, I change it after 5 days. I auto extend to 10 days and put something else in place. Now, editing has a limit now. I did not see that mentioned.

Oh gawd,I have two windows up, reading " Fair trading and auction withdrawals".

I had no idea, I thought this was a blog site and nothing more. Going now. Look around at this site. PROPERLY:o)

Someguy a new trader bid on my Auction, won and then never made contact.

So I left bad feedback, he then brought the exact item from someone else and didn't pay, etc etc.

Left me bad feedbak saying "POO"

And has since been disabled.
I contact Trademe asking for it to be removed as he was obviously a dropkick and had been disabled.

They said no.

Basically the feedback system is flawed in that giving someone bad feedback will 99% of the time cause them to give you bad feedback in retaliation.
While this might appear to be a bad thing, any genuine trader is not going to run away from you screaming just because you have one or two bad feedbacks in amongst the good feedback.
Since there is the provision to make a comment on the bad feedback on your profile, do so and explain the situation there so anyone reading it can understand why it is there.
Bad feedback only indicates a dropkick at on one side of the trade, not both.  Anyone who uses trademe regularly will understand this and the tit for tat feedback placing.

I've had a similar one where goods I'd won were "stolen" from the trader (before I'd sent money).  I'm not convinced that was true, but had no proof so listed as a neutral feedback.  Got a neutral in return.  No harm done on my side, although I did see the same goods listed under another trader a week later and passed that info to the original trader.

The solution is simple: if you don't get what you feel is good support from a company: don't use them!

I have sold a good quatity of items on TM over the years. With the dropkicks that have come on national TV over the last year-odd, attempting to justify TM's position & continual non-action in situations regarding theft etc, which just a case of them trying to calm the masses to prevent a retaliation by way of loss of revenue & saying things will be better in the future, is just plain bollix.

Add to that, making the sellers (usually) having to PAY for rectifying what should have been fixed without charge, by way of an 0900 number is ludicrous.

I haven't used their site for over nine months, now, & won't: EVER AGAIN.

If more people, in this apathetic society we've become,  were prepared to sacrifice a bit of convenience & 'want-it-now' attitude then maybe corporations like Fairfax Media (remember they paid over $750 million for the company) would learn to treat people with other than contempt & disdain.

To quantify my fourth paragraph: I have about 17 items (PC parts, AV gear etc.) that I had planned on auctioning & was going to set them up today. After the bull Dean Winters espoused on TV this week & the continual issues this company is having, I'll just go elsewhere. I won't say where, some Foot in mouth might just think I'm a sales agent for them. They can keep the change!

People reading this may think I'm the loser: but it isn't me, because I hold true to my values. Something that is more & more becoming lost.
