I'm going to watch it. I've read Chernobyl Notebook by Grigoriy Medvedev whom I assume you will see in the series at some point as he was intimately involved in the disaster.

Apparently it attracts 20,000 tourists a year and there are radioactive rave parties held even though it has been declared unsafe for humans for the next 24,000 years; Chernobyl has become a ☢ radioactive ☢ rave scene and stag do venture

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Is there anywhere someone without Sky/HBO could watch this at the moment?

I had a similar question regarding Game of Thrones. I had to content myself with imagining I was sailing across the Narrow Sea, to a bay, where the pirates are.

You have a poor memory! We were requested to wear long sleeves/pants, we carried geiger counters, we had to pass through (ancient) radiation detectors on leaving the zone, people are only allowed in the zone for a certain period of time, etc etc

Old man memory or radiation damaged memory?

Subscribed to HBO via Hulu to watch. I couldn't find any local sources for streaming.

The show it's self can be summed up in one word.

'Wow'

The darkness (of the story) of this show is scary on a new level.

Lie upon lie upon lie. Let's bury our heads in the sand.

'Russia does not have global nuclear catastrophes'

This is a 'must' watch.

10/10

Watched via Skygo/On Demand. Its ok. I rewatched Zero Hour's doco and there seems to have been some HBO dramatic license taken.

Same. Had our regular Family BBQ, this doco came up, its on Neon, as Neon has HBO. I don't have Neon, but I'm not averse to subscribing, if it has one to two things I'd like. I've seen posts here saying its rubbish or saying its good.

Sky/HBO? Its on Sky? I've been out, sorry if it's obvious.

Tks, you've answered my question, its on Sky, not just Neon (where I heard its on)

If a true story is dramatised, there will always be dramatic license taken, and to me thats ok, as ling as its not overly false. Did you feel it was overdone? For me, extra liberties are ok, but just to a point.
