First, does Donald Trump get any money from this?

Second, who thought it was a good idea to revive a dead show like this - especially giving it's unavoidable association with one of the most despised men in the world?

Third, why would Mike Pero want to put himself in a position where he is compared with Donald Trump?

There's no accounting for the poor taste of some producers and viewers in television.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Mike Pero has not had anything to do with his companies for some time now. Like everything else here, they belong to an Australian company. He has a contractual obligation to act as an advertising front man but has nothing to do with the actual business.

Bread and circuses require an audience. I don't watch this crap. Do you?

Marketing and promotional type people. For some reason they get hooked on these things as good ideas - just like running "popstars" simultaneously on two tv channels at the same time - what the hell is the point other than trying to force people to watch? (Newsflash: Forcing people to watch something reeks of it being a terrible show anyway)

Announcing 5G at a concert venue when there's extremely little coverage elsewhere - great, so people can send large videos to people who can't use 5G, what's the point in that? Bringing back a show that was really only made famous because of Trump firing everyone all the time, no point in that either. But I guess they have to justify their jobs somehow

Thankfully we have the choice not to engage, for the most part

Yeah that made zero sense. If someone wanted to watch it they would watch it, by putting it on another channel as well they just lost the potential audience who didn't want to see it.

Reality TV is today's escapism. Instead of Mills and Boon romances, we want to see people ridicule themselves on national TV

No but neither do I regard myself as belonging to the segment of society for whom bread and circuses are intended.

Yes to question 1 according to the NZ Mainstream news.

It's a close second to Eat well for less, which is apparently the most watched NZ Tv program after the election debate. Sad, considering it seems to be a big advertorial. I am guessing a NZ version for location location location will be one of the most successful programs, based on NZs obsession with houses and house prices.

I will admit to being under 30 and shamefully enjoying Netflix's The Circle. I hate it, but I love it.
