Hi
Sorry did not know where else to put this.
I brought a olyumpus XD card of trademe a month ago, took some photos and then went to put them on my computer but it does not reconigse that the XD card is inserted. When i click on I drive it says that the XD card needs to be formatted.I thought they already come formatted so you can use straight away.I also read that formatting it will delete all the pictures off the XD card.I lost my USB cord,is there anyone i can get my photos on my computer without losing them???

Thanks

I had a similar problem with an XD card a few months ago - it was caused by the camera receiving a reasonably heavy jolt while powered on.  I got around the problem by transfering the pics from the camera via the USB cable (you'll need to either buy or borrow one - recommend you buy as they're only about $10 from somewhere like Dick Smith) then getting the camera to reformat the card.  I've had no problems since.
