Believe it or not, the owner of Marilyn Monroe's dress insists it was not damaged when recently worn by the most inappropriate person in the world. I have to disagree with that. She would have farted in it and as far as I am concerned, that defiles it for all time.

That and this is the kind of thing that happens when you loan historic pieces from a collection.

I can't imagine what possessed the Ripley's Museum to allow the dress to be worn, if it's that iconic and that precious.

It's like allowing a movie to use the original Mona Lisa as a prop.

It does now. It didn't when I made it. RNZ must have buggered something. I can't even find the story now. If you hover over my link you can see it is (was) correct.

Feels like a publicly stunt before it goes up for auction, or perhaps someone cashing in on an insurance policy.

Long story here. Kardashian lost weight before wearing it. Wore it on the steps only. and changed into a replica at the top of the steps. Donated to charity.

Ripley's says the damage was preexisting and recorded when they purchased it. The outrage was generated by one very upset person who took 'after' photos and does not have before photos.

I could never understand how those people rose to fame...assume it was on the back of their fathers sporting achievements.

I assumed it was the ability to pay for media consultants and publicity for no reason in particular.

You won't believe what Kim K has said about the heartbreaking Met Gala saga.
