I have had difficulty to retrieve emails on Yahoo! Mail via POP since 27th April.

Has anyone heard or known Yahoo!'s game plan? Seems like from http://tr.im/kBkx that shown the comparison between Yahoo! Classic Mail and Yahoo! Mail Plus. And POP access is a premium product...

Which Yahoo are you using, POP is working fine for my yahoo.com.au and yahoo.co.nz, POP has never been officially available for yahoo.com if you only have a Classic A/c, although there are some 3rd party applications that allow you to download mail using POP.

The email address I have for yahoo is @yahoo.co.nz and the POP server I use is pop.mail.yahoo.co.nz:995 as suggested by their settings page. However, Gmail Fetcher has reported that it has difficulty to retrieve from the server for days, only checked today as I haven't seen the emails from Yahoo came through to Gmail.

I'm connecting to pop.mail.yahoo.co.nz and port 995 with SSL using the standard Mac Mail program.

Maybe your issues are with Gmail ?

While it probably wouldn't be related, I've noticed numerous times over the past few days, I've had problems with Gmail rejecting my password (also connecting via my Mac Mail program)

Here's my setup with a ymail.com email address.

Don't forget to switch on POP in email settings for your Yahoo address...

Nah, no problem with Gmail at all, the remote server (Yahoo!) has difficulty with their POP it seems as I got it working tonight now. I got the right configuration at all time, so it is just then suddenly wasn't working.

Strange that you were having problems when I have not had any issues with my Yahoo NZ or Yahoo Australia email accounts and I only use POP to access my mail.

Here too no problem accessing. I think the problems have anything to do with POP or SMTP settings.
