hi im backing up my stargate sg1 collection, becouse the disks are starting to get scratched, i used dvd shrink, but would like to convet the vob files to around 350mb avi so i can watch through wmc, any one no of a good converter, plz that will give the power to select output file size

For a simple 'point and click', Auto GK

Staxrip or Mencoder are a little more flexible, but also more powerful.

I use DVDFab to convert the VOB files I've ripped with DVDShrink

Has presets for everything from AVI through to PSP formats.
