Greetings all,

As part of my post-graduate studies I am writing a paper related to copyright enforcement, and would like to gather some quick statistics from fellow geekzone users. I just have two questions:

* Have you ever been served with a notice of copyright infringement?
* If so was it valid (i.e. where you actually infringing or was it a false positive)?

That’s all I need! But if you feel like adding comments please do. All the results will be totaled and so totally anonymous; I am not interested in passing judgment, just getting some statistics. I would like to end up with ‘out of xxx responses yyy said….” Etc.

Many thanks in advance.

Well, my results have now at least ONE result the other way!

Can I ask (for personal interest, nothing to do with the study) what the ISP was?  Perhaps that could be added to the study?  Might give an indication of which ISP's are more likely to follow through with enforcement requests.

Cheers

Im always the odd one out......

It was Xnet. Got the "if we recieve another one, youre out of here" speech etc.
The staffer I spoke to even told me to keep to private trackers :-p Found that was amusing...

Hey, at least the staffer knew what a private tracker was! Most ISP staff I have spoken too don't have much technical knowledge at all and base most of their conversations off a check sheet (reboot modem, reboot PC etc)
