Anyone know if anything has changed since this 3 year old article?

http://www.consumer.org.nz/news/view/online-auctions-law-change-needed

I've noticed a few people on trademe selling new goods are refusing to fix/replace/refund items under the CGA if they break within a reasonable time as they where sold with "place bid" rather than "buy now"

Does the consumer have any protection with these people?

Thanks

The CGA applies only for goods you buy from retailers. If you buy something from auction sites "Buyer beware" applies.
