A prominent New Zealand musician pushed a girl's head towards his genitals while drunk in an alley-way, following a concert, the Auckland District Court heard today.
sounds bad right?

but then...

the man had performed at a concert in Wellington last year and was on his way to his hotel at 3.30am when three girls approached him on the street.
"They asked if they could kiss him," Mr Mansfield said.

He said two of the girls walked down an alley-way with the man and he made a series of "crude propositions". They were then joined by a third young woman before the man forced her head towards his genitals.

doesn't seem quite so bad now, IMO. I'm not sure what they were expecting to happen down an alleyway with a drunk celebrity they have just met and kissed. 16 year old girls (especially the ones out at 3.30AM) are not that naieve surely?

They asked for a kiss, not to have their head forced towards his genitals (hopefully his pants were on). It's guys like him that make it harder for us normals to meet women.

regards the name suppression:

"Is there in fact some special consideration being given because this is a prominent person?"

well, yes -  of course there is..  if this wasnt a 'prominent person' then this probably would never have made the media in the first place, or would simply have gone unnoticed.

I used to be in a band and have done a lot of gigs/touring... yes, there's some really naive young girls out there.  I was a good boy and turned down quite a few drunk young girls which is more than I can say for some guys in bands.
