Just got an email from Zillion...........

=======================

Sella.co.nz has purchased Zillion.co.nz!

Sella.co.nz has grown exponentially since starting 16 months ago to
now be New Zealand's second largest auction site with over 400,000
visitors each month. We have a team of 17 people working hard every
day to make Sella.co.nz NZ's favourite online marketplace.

We work with some major partners including;

- AirNZ - Weekly $1 reserve grabaseat flights
- Accor Hotels - Weekly $1 Reserve auction
- TV3 & Kidscan - The 2009 Telethon

The aim of combining both sites is to create an even larger competitor
to TradeMe and we are very confident that together we will continue to
grow and achieve this.

When you combine both Sella & Zillion you have some rather impressive
stats - these are:

- 470,000 users per month
- 250,000 members - growing at over 3,000 per week
- 230,000 listings

This is a massive marketplace and best of all: Sella.co.nz does not
charge commissions or listing fees so you can now sell your products
on a larger site and keep more of the money in your own pocket!! Sella
only charges for featured items such as bold listings or highlighted
backgrounds.

==================================

When Sella first started I signed up but sold nothing.... few scam artists trying to do their run on me but thats all. Also 80% of their listings were real estate and car yards.
Put me off quite a bit.... but looks like things have changed a bit so i'll give them another shot - Im sure Ive given TradeMe enough money for a while :)

Zillion team are part of Mightyape.co.nz and doing well, ive been a member of mightyape since 2003 back then it was known as Gameplanet. Wonder if it was Zillion staff who gave it the name change? Most likely. I remember being upset at the new name change it was just wrong man totally wrong how could they do this to gameplanet!!!. I got over that a few weeks later lol.

Anyways good luck to them with Mightyape, im sure they are pleased they sold Zillion as that site pretty much died.

Heh Ive been buying stuff from Mightyape since they were Micro-World in the 90's..... they were at the very top of Symonds Street, then moved down to the tax building on Symonds St, then across the road and changed to Gamezone...then Gameplanet... moved to Dominion Road.... then MightyApe.. lot of changes.

Also had other dealings with "Bad Barty" there hehe.... brings back memories.

Never used either. They can't compete with trademe, which is superior for selling things.
