My work mate pageweon sent me an e-mail with this link - It's quite scary to read about what google are capable of.

They could be SkyNet if they wanted to

It's interesting how cracked.com content can be so "real" - even though it's a joke site, they do pull some good content around there... I read them frequently.

They want in our TVs now :(

Anyone else wanting a Logitech Google TV box? Actually looks pretty neat :)
I knew they were thinking about putting Android on a few cell processor Toshiba Tvs, but now they've demo'd their Logitech partnered TV box

Phones, Computers, TVs, Microwaves....coming soon: fridges, roomba vacuums, us.  As long as I run on Froyo and have 450% faster internet and flash browsing I'll be happy.  I think

Found a video of the microwave:

That's one thing that I'm really afraid of.  I would not allow a TV with a camera in my house.   I don't want google to know I'm watching TV in my dressing gown on a Sunday morning

Yeah apparently they are in deals with almost all the major TV manufacturers :S looks like pretty soon we won't be able to escape it.  The only bad thing would be if like the phones, they all have different release versions like 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2...

I'm guessing if they all come out at the same time? well Logitech/Sony devices, they'll have the same software, but possible branding rights?

The software, called Google TV, will live on Sony televisions and Blu-ray DVD players, as well as a set-top box built by Logitech, all of which will be available this fall.

Read more: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/05/20/BUTN1DHV9N.DTL&type=business#ixzz0oWos9J...

Also, I'm guessing Fall would mean anywhere in Q3? not too far away now.....

I thought I'd reply with 5 reasons why I love Google

1. I can find what I want to know
2. I can find where I want to go
3. Android. They don't tell me what apps I can install, or dictate what hardware it must be on
4. Pacman - Although my productivity at work has dipped!
5. They pay me (adsense)
