Anyone here doing their family tree ?

I just started mine using myheritage.com but finding that digging up info on my family is a mission :) Didnt think it would be easy but didnt think it'd be this hard either ;)

What sites have people used to find their family members ?

I am using www.geni.com

The advantage with this site is that you are not left to do it yourself. A family member can be invited (by email) to the tree and they can also contribute to it. This way lots of people can input into it. The disadvantage is that crap can be entered if they wish but mostly people will only enter what they know is correct information. The tree can grow very quickly this way. I have now been able to contact a side of the family I had never met before so it has been very worth while.

The websites aim is to connect everyone so if you just want to focus on immediate family then this might not suit.

The ability to upload photos, videos, documents etc is just fantastic although I am sure other sites must do the same. It certainly does take a bit of effort but is also very rewarding.
