NZ design a better way to kill a rat

A New Zealand designed and built lightweight, self-setting stoat and rat trap, which crushes the animal's head with a gas-powered piston, could slash conventional trap costs by up to 75 percent.

The "world-first" system removes the need for the labour-intensive checking and resetting and free up more resources to fight pests threatening native birds.
