Trade Me and other sites hosted by Datacom in Wellington are currently down. I am going to post about this soon.

Yeah there are a few major sites down at the moment.
Stuff went in to a login/password request before going down completely.

According to some information a power cut caused problems in a datacentre running those servers.

The interesting thing here is Trade Me... That domain alone is responsible for 60% of New Zealand's internet traffic and is down.

They have two sites - AKL and WLG. Both are live, but the database itself is only live in one of the sites at a time. Today it was live in Wellington, so obviously nothing can run without the database being visible.

I always thought they had a DR plan in place. It seems it was just load balancing after all then...

Trademe appears to be back up.

[Edit] ... albeit latest listings seem to be missing images ...

The issue is a major power outage in Wellington that has taken down large parts of the Citylink network.

I've got a trademe auction I won that's stuck on closing, hopefully they do a clean up of the system to sort these issues out when the network is back.
