Hey all

Looking for recommendations on where to buy some good quality RG58 coax (50 ohm) approx 15 meters. I know DSE sell it but I told that its not of good quality.
Also looking to buy appropriate cable connecting jacket (like you see On tv aerials) to protect the cable connections.

I am located in Lower Hutt and the coax is for my LPFM station.

Cheers
Grant

Self amalgimating tape is what you want for the outdoor parts. I dont think there is a good quality RG58 - but if you know the loss just put more power into one end so you get the max 1 watt out the other end. And since cable losses are usually stated at worst case, you will probably have more than 1 watt out and a justifiable reason for the "mistake"

If you want quality look at LMR195 - its the same size basically but better specs. Any of the long range wifi places will have it available since its usually used there.

Check out www.gowifi.co.nz

Are you going to start transmitting in the Hutt as well as Wainui?

There's no LMR-195 at that site.. They make cables custom.

No, we no longer live in Wainui so no intention to be on FM there. Will be in lower Hutt only.
