I won a $4000 BBQ from mintshot.co.nz before it closed.

They closed my account as I was inviting too many people to it and got lots of points, more than other people so I could actually win most of the prizes if I wanted to.

They had no T&C on how many people you could invite in total at the time so I invited LOTS.

Thanks

Wife won the monthly 2Degrees draw.... I won Windows Home Server from here.... cant think of anything else.

I did enter a SMS comp once for Rexona... won a Biege Brigade cricket shirt. Sold it on TradeMe for heck of a lot more than what the reserve was.... not a cricket fan :)

I won an iPod Shuffle via a Tegal Takeouts online competition, which I managed to sell on TradeMe for $10 more than retailers were selling it for at the time (lack of research by bidders FTW!). And my wife won a Playstation 2 in an Australian online competition when we were living there. But by far the most lucrative place I've found for winning stuff is Twitter. I've won the following by following various corporate Twitter accounts:-

$100 prepay credit (@VodafoneTreats)
$10 prepay credit (@TelecomNZ) (couldn't use it, so I gave it back to them after none of my followers wanted it)
Tickets to International and Warriors rugby league matches (@VodafoneTreats)
Tickets to Super 15 rugby matches (@BnzBank)
Bottle of wine (@AdvintageWines)
Iron Maiden Poster (@EmimusicNZ)
Various music related posters (@coupdemain)
Chocolate (@WhittakersNZ)
Free burgers (@BurgerfuelNZ)

That's all I can remember for now, so there may be more. So the moral of the story, boys and girls, is that not only is Twitter not a waste of time, but its also a fertile ground for free swag. :-)
