This is what I get when going to it

The Domain bargainlover.co.nz is registered, but does not point to a website.

We received a request from the client to take his site offline.  As for reasoning, you'll have to ask him yourself.

Hey guys, yes, I have asked Nate to pull down the site for now. The reasons are due to time and financial constraints. It's been such a fun ride sharing bargains and freebies for everyone to benefit from.

Unfortunately we are in a tough market and many companies want something for nothing. I have gone down the advertising avenue however without much luck. There is this perception out there where "everything on the internet should be free". Also, Google managed to KO my Adsense account because of "suspicious clicking" - frankly, a lot of BS. Someone must've decided it was a joke to click on them continuously.

The money generated did not equate to the amount of time I have personally put in. Basically I did it for the love.

However, with the help of Geekzone members, perhaps we could relaunch it with the help of others like yourselves. It's surprising how much effort it takes to run a website. I don't mind not making any money... it's the time.

Your thoughts guys?

It's been a while since I last saw the site, but what about running it as a type of wiki (with appointed admins, etc.)?

^yes and no I suppose. I guess just like Geekzone, I need more volunteers. People who just love the idea and want to help.

It's amazing how time consuming it is!

Sorry to hear about it.

True. And then they take their time to actually pay for services...

Tell me about it...

And if you want to make it right, it is a lot of time. If you dedicate full time, you will need to get paid. And then we go back to... "everything on the internet should be free" and the old discussion about advertising on web sites, ad blockers, etc. You go there, you are asking to be named Evil of the Year.

^So true. I can totally understand why you think ad blockers are evil (not in your words though).

I would love to go full time but it's just not possible. Even part-time is impossible.

If anyone would be interested being involved (unpaid) in a possible future re-launch, please let me know. Would be nice to have a small, dedicated team.

I'd love to be involved but unfortunately I have no time myself. Best website of 2010 in my opinion. I understand the reasoning and hopefully you can find some like minded individuals to assist.

I am not sure, but depending on the costs of running the website, I may also be prepared to either donate if it's a smallish amount of money, or invest if putting more money into it, would help the site actually make money.

PM me if you have anything you would like to discuss.
