I have a iPhone that needs to be shipped back to China(Shenzhen to be exact).

Does anyone have any tips on the best/cheapest way to send it back? - The best I have found so far is DHL and that's about $60.

Thanks in advance!

Do you want the best way to ship it back, or the cheapest way?

The cheapest would be NZ Post. The best way would be with a freight company such as UPS, DHL, FedEx or UPS all of whom will charge a similair amount.

Thanks in advance!?

It's amazing that it appears almost free to mail from China to NZ, eg if you buy from Deal Extreme. Yet to ship the other way is so expensive, it just doesn't make sense.

I think it must be the volume of goods that DX sends, its built into the price of the crap we buy and so it all works out for them

No interesting story sorry. Just our old flatmate had to get his iPhone serviced by Brightpoint but it didn't return in time for his return trip to China.

So, trying to figure out the cheapest way to get it to him. I will investigate NZPost - basically I'm not worried if it is slow but I would like to be able to track it. Some insurance if it goes missing into the mail abyss would be nice to :)

I've always been bemused by how I can order a cable on eBay (including shipping from China or Hong Kong) for less than it would cost me to send the same cable to another town within NZ.

Try getting a price from NZ Post for courier service.

Last time I used them (which was a long time ago), the courier service was DHL but at half the price that DHL wanted to charge. It is a little slower as it seems to take a day or two for it to reach DHL but from that point it's the normal DHL service.
