equilor: ok heres what i have had to put up with today

i got my phone back on yesterday after 17 days with no phone line from nznet. [for 2 hours] then it disconected again at 5.30. sighs.
[had  the net crashing heaps from them too]

Same here, internet went down again.

Am now with Telecom, and although the speed is not as good as NZNet (never understood why providers have different speeds on the same line), and it costs me 20$ per month more for 20 GB less, I hope to finally be sure that when I wake up or come home from work there is an internet connection.

Just to play devils advocate here but I don't see anyone getting any more compensation than for the days which the DSL service was unavailable, so perhaps something like 40% of a months bill tops.

It's not like users haven't had longer outages when say phone lines are cut etc.

Would be interesting if they do decide to make a compensation package, although a small ISP is never going to compensate people like Telecom would if they had a similar outage.

I have direct debit and directed the bank to stop that so that november is not being paid for. The bank told me, that should it still be taken off my account, i can fill out a form at one of the branches to revert the payment and that is what I do.

O and I have emailed them of course that I see the connection as cancelled. You have probably had an email with the new bill on 20 october and it said you had ten days to respond. So be quick.

Telecom is more expensive for less GB and is slower. It was a bit of a hassle to get the connection and no, I have had no compensation whatsoever. How did they compensate you ?

O dear, so much for your compensation !!

Just ignore them with their demands for payment.
You have been too friendly with them already, so am I.

They are a faceless, useless group, but telecom did not make the switch easy either.

ISP = Irritating Stomach Pain.
