Does that map tool you use have more information on planned fiber than the one on the Chorus website?

HFC deployments have nothing at all in relation to where UFB is deployed.

If I was responsible for fibre deployments I'd be targeting HFC areas first - because of I was Chorus or Enable I'd stand a good chance of stealing those customers back.

Most people here have about 4-600 if they're lucky... That bit I'm talking about is for Telstras fastest cable plans. (only avail in cable areas). Have a look at Aussie broadband plans and see how many actually mention speed.... They don't coz it's crap. ADSL2 here will get you 6Mbit down and 4-600kbit up. That's max for most areas without cable. And cable up is either 1 up (for $95 a month) or 2 up (for $10 more).

Not bad. Given AU is still doing FTTN as we did that 3 years ago now.
My philosophy is "at least you got the internet, If you dont like it. Deal with it you cant get better where you are"

I don't think it would even be close to 2Mbps for General traffic.

I don't think it would even be close to 2Mbps for General traffic.

One would assume that it's purely an EIR as are all UFB plans. The only CIR that applies is to the high priority traffic queue (ie traffic with the correct 802.1p tag)

Chorus did propose what was in effect minimum service levels in their original right performing product brief. I haven't actually seen what is being proposed for the actual real world products.
