Hi
So I read Steve Biddle's (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/user_public.asp?user_id=1387) post with interest (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/sbiddle/7872) which Mauricio circulated recently. I ran the Chorus SAT (http://chorus.co.nz/service-availability-tool) for my address and learned that I have ADSL2+ and VDSL capability.  Then checked out the modem traffic stats that Steve discusses.  It's here that I start to struggle.

The attached image includes the screenshots that I took - would someone please be kind enough to have a look and tell me what they're saying.  My limited understanding suggests they're not great and if so I'll need a reasonably good (tech) explanation up my sleeve when I contact my ISP.

[ The uploaded image is a bit crap, so there's a better copy here -

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

I managed to get the picture but it was a pain. The most important bits (down/up):

Line Rate: 18291/728
Noise Margin: 6.7/6.1 - This means that you're on ULL
Attenuation: 20.5/10.6
Output Power: 0.0/12.8

Please put your address into SAT and tell us what it says in the right-hand column.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't notice that you'd listed your street above. You're connected directly to the exchange and therefore won't be suffering from mid-span injection. The downstream line rate looks fine although upstream is a bit lower than I'd expect, but I'm not familiar with Slingshot gear.

your line looks fine, but upload a bit low. it's probably just slingshot normal throughput issues.   is it bad nationally or internationally?  also you may want to enable annex-m in your modem if you can, it can increase your upload rate at the expense of download rate, but currently your download is so much more than your upload that it may improve your experience.
