I read on premierleaguepass.com knowing that a 3mbps connection speed will be good enough to watch on 3000kbps quality, which is not too bad. Assume that we need a 10mbps connection to watch on good quality video or further to 30 mbps, i wonder the reason for people who signed up for 100mbps connection.
Can anyone share?

The football streaming should work fine on a decent 10M ADSL connection.

The choice for 30 or 100 (or 50, at Full Flavour all our 30/10 plans become 50/20 in a few days) really depends on how quick you want to download things.

For the residential user, 30 is fine and is a big jump from what most people are used to.

Faster peak speeds do come in handy when you've got multiple things going on at the same time (Dad watching streaming football, Mum skyping her sister, Son p2p'ing Linux isos, Daughter on YouTube).

fyscdaniel: So it answers the question, we do not need 100mbps connection for video streaming.

Who ever said people did?
