A friend of mine is moving to Kinloch, just out of Taupo for family reasons. She will be working from home (mostly using Citrix). Her husband also streams videos occasionally on Youtube. They currently have VDSL.
I've looked at the Chorus map and it seems the best they can do there ADSL-wise is 5 MB/s (if I'm not going colourblind). Is that the best option available? They would use several gigabytes of data a month, so Mobile Broadband probably isn't suitable - not for sharing anyway.
Are there any upgrades planned for Kinloch, or is this location in a similar situation to Outram?

Final update on this:

After moving to Kinloch and finding the ADSL unreliable (sometimes fine, sometimes slow as hell), my friend opted for wireless RBI based on the recommendations in this thread. Vodafone came out and tested the signal at her place and it was excellent, so she got it installed on the spot. She is now very happy smile
