Hi All

I have recently moved up from Hamilton to Auckland Central, rented a suite in Kingsland beside Morningside Train Station.
I found everything is going good and getting settled EXCEPT the internet :(

I tried to sign up and asked about naked VDSL with 3 different ISP (Sparks, Orcon and Vodafone) , they all ran the eligible test to my room said the room is capable for installation, but all later told me the Exchange is currently full, in which the only thing I can do is wait endlessly.
They told me there is nothing they can do or check, as it is run by the Chorus, I was very disappointed as I am living in the central Auckland, that I really need the broadband to get my work and living going, and I am frustrating to find a new place to move in, since it is just my 3rd week here, and the new place may also has same issue in the end.

If I may kindly ask for any advice towards my situation, since I've read through few posts on similar topics, but found mobile broadband is way too expensive in terms of my usage, and my landlord may not agree to install antenna for rural broadband. Satellite broadband not an option as well.

Is there any possiblily to check my standing in the que? or anything I can ask Chorus about their schedule to extend exchange spot in my area? I've read news about their investments to resolve this issue, seems they have missed out my area :(

I really really hoping be able to have the broadband installed, so that I can enjoy the living here.
I believe it is still a very big issue here in Auckland, as many many people finally found and moved into their new home, and unable to get an access to the internet, while they keep telling the public how much they have improved on their coverage for Fibre.

Thank you for everyone's kind help in advance.

Neil

Based on your post mu assumption is you're a VDSL2 port waiter. This typically means Chorus will be in the process of installing or swapping new VDSL2 cards in the ISAM which is typically a 2-3 week BAU process.

Assuming this is the case there is nothing stopping you from signing up to ADSL2+

@Dark Shadow : Unfortunately Fibre isn't available at my place.

Last week I got told that they are able to hook me up with the ADSL first and put me in the que for upgrade whenever its available.
Thank you all for these helpful advise, finally I can get the access at home. Anything is good to put me back online for work.

Cheers guys.
