I am Connected to Cabinet CU/BB which is located at the intersection on South Eyre & Downs Road and is a ASAM they have acknowledged is suffering major congestion

The only map that makes mention of the upgrade for our area is the BUSINESS broadband map on the chorus site. all other maps dont show the upgrade

https://www.chorus.co.nz/broadband-options/for-business/broadband-map

It lists the following for our place

NETWORK CAPABILITY

  • Broadband > 1 Mbps
NETWORK UPGRADE SCHEDULED

  • Broadband > 5 Mbps by Jun-2016

For houses Closer to the cabinet it shows

NETWORK CAPABILITY

  • Broadband > 1 Mbps
NETWORK UPGRADE SCHEDULED

  • Broadband > 20 Mbps by Jun-2016 (with the right modem and plan)
  • Broadband > 5 Mbps by Jun-2016

Is it a case of the business map is the most up to date and detailed - and there for is the only one showing it? Or will the faster speeds only be avaiable on business plans?

Based on these speeds does it mean they are puting in a cabinet that is ADSL2 & VDSL capable and we are out of VDSL range. I would expect distance wise we would be out of VDSL range but in ADSL2 Range

Yep, looks like you're in luck. Once the cabinet is upgraded you will be able to take advantage of the increased speeds automatically.
