I'm shifting house and literally moving to the other side of the road.  I'm on 2Degrees (ex-Snap customer) and connected via UFB.  The new property has been untenanted for a few weeks and I have seen there is an ONT inside the new property.

I've made the request from 2degrees for a change of address with no changes to my plan/features/services.  The rep said they have to kill my connection at my current house before turning on the new one. Is that really how it works and will they literally disable my service via my current ONT before turning on the ONT at the new location?

I've a got a few days of overlap while I'm moving and I'm not really sure which day will be my last one in my current house and which will be first day in the new one.

I was hoping/thinking that the Chorus network wouldn't really care all that much which ONT I was connected to and it would rely more on my 2D account and authentication credentials.  If that is the case, then once I'm finished with the move I can just disconnect and move the modem and be up and running with no downtime.

The rep at 2degrees didn't seem to have a firm grasp on what happens behind the scenes so I thought I would just check in here.

If you have a connection at both properties 2degrees will have to pay Chorus at both properties.

If you're happy to pay the monthly plan fee for 2 x connections then just tell them that - I can imagine most people would not be prepared to do that.
