Hi Guys,

Went to a series of flats today, one of which had no internet, infact no line stats at all, and have referred to Chorus.

What was interesting was the demarc box was so old.

Anyone seen one of these before?

Plenty of these terminals around the place. Feed by a lead sheathed cable with paper insulation. They tend to get really really full to the point that when they are opened atleast one wire is pulled off the terminals each time lol.

It's just a double sided screw plate. The back of the plate is the same, but the incoming 25 pair cable is terminated on the back of it.

It's just to make connecting lead ins to the main feed cable quick and easy.

These days we just use IDC (Insulation Displacement Connectors) to terminate cables. Krone is one of the most common types used in New Zealand.
