I am trying to do tests on different modem versions on my android on telecom ...

been using speedtest but i've since realised each click results in something lik 6-7mb usage!! i don't have unlimited data over 3G so ...

are there any other options that say use only hundreds of kilobytes?

how much data does the geekzone page transfer?

For best results each test should be just over 10MB file

Due to the way RNC state changes between rel99<->HSPA handovers occur the bigger the file the better.

Using speedtest.net would also be about the least accurate way in the world of measuring modem performance. You can easily run 10 tests in a row and get wildly varying speeds on all networks.
