Hi

I currently have 2 ADSL2+ connections connected via Draytek 120 modems which are hooked up to a Peplink Balance 380 WAN load balancing device.

Although the Peplink will do bonded VPN site to site (which allows it to combine bandwidth for data transfers between VPN sites), it is not possible for it to "bond" 2 connections outside of the site to site VPN environment, it is simply a load balancing device when browsing the rest of the internet.

One connection is a Vodafone Business 20GB plan. I get a fairly standard 21Mbps/1Mbps reading on SpeedTest.net

Now here is the strange part

The second connection is a CallPlus unlimited Business Plan. I am getting 30Mbps/2Mbps SpeedTest.net readings on this line. I have ran the SpeedTest.net over 30x using Tauranga/New Plymouth/Sydney servers and I also used Peplink's own SpeedTest app which allows me to test via downloading Apple/Microsoft/Adobe files and my own download manager speed readings. All of these tests are showing speeds greater than should be possible on ADSL2+??

What are your sync rates?

Callplus run Annex M on theil ULL kit so 2Mbps upstream is typical.

Yes I've had the Annex M 2Mbps explained to me by an ex Voda engineer friend. The main thing that is driving me crazy is the downstream speed. Not that I'm complaining but how is that even possible.

I'm not sure of the sync rate as I have the draytek's setup with pass through mode and the Peplink Admin interface does not display sync rates. However I do know I was previously getting near max sync rates on the Vodafone line (which is telecom wholesale in my area).

My company is in Neilson Street, Penrose.

I could isolate the CallPlus from the Peplink after working hours but the Peplink shouldn't be affecting the results in this way. When I ran the speedtest on Vodafone, it was also passing through the Peplink device but produced a standard reading.

Solved, when I disconnected the Vodafone line it went back to what I would expect.

Interesting as I didn't know the peplink could do this.

Speed test uses multiple threads, so having multiple routes "load shared" should net better speeds.

Yeah that appears to be the case, I'm a bit suprised the bootcamp.pkg and service pack from MS download could be combined in this way too. Makes the device a bit more useful than I had originally thought.

Yeah, FDM also does multiple thread downloading. That is actually pretty cool, good solution for those needing reliable and fast connectivity.
