Our sales office is run from a serviced office managed by Priority One in Tauranga.

At present the ISP providing both Priority One and the serviced office customers is EOL.

Everything is crawling at worse than dial up speed and attempts to phone them have been in vain as I don't even get a menu - calls to their number times out before it starts ringing.

Are any other EOL users having similar issues?

It's still limping along at below dial-up speeds.

EOL are also not answering their phone (well, it's as if their phone number doesn't even exist!).

Here is a quick video from my iPad to amuse you while we wait...

I have been with them for almost a year now. They are kinda difficult to get in touch with if you have issue. Saying that, this is the 2nd time I have problem with the connection.

These guys have been having issues with the EOL connection for almost one year. Beyond ridiculous. They could at least balance their shoddy service out with some real human support.

Is there a way to bypass the internet service through priority one with a connection from your own company?

Working on that. The problem is there is an approx 2 month wait list for UFB connections in Tauranga (not enough Transfield staff locally to deal with all the installs at present).

UPDATE:

EOL broadband turned to complete **** again. Went downhill bang on 5pm when conveniently their support desk must of stopped taking calls. I'm pinging an Auckland based server and over the past 5mins it's timed out about 60% of the time.

Really starting to feel empathy for those on "other" ISPs who have experienced equally poor service.

EDIT: Corrected spelling

I wonder if they have some sort of backhaul link somewhere that keeps getting congested

A friend who works with another ISP in Hamilton did some Speedtests last night. EOL host a Tauranga speedtest.net node and when my friend tested he was getting decent speeds (over 100 megabit) up and down to Vodafone and a few other sites around NZ.

He tried EOL - barely getting over 50 megabit up and down.

Waste of time trying to get an indication on your speed when the Speedtest provider itself appears to have significant capacity issues.

They are called 'Ethernet Online' right? Well there's your problem.... Should have got a connection from '10GigE Online'. Not surprised they are maxing out their 10Mbps lol....

UPDATE:

EOL connection has been going OK this afternoon/evening. There is still a bunch of websites that won't load but that could be due to the network configuration here.

Seems like anything https falls over. Their helpdesk said it was an issue with their server in Auckland that they are working on.

Fingers crossed it'll be better next week.

I understand one of the requirements to be shown on the speedtest map is that you must have a 100mbit up/down connection avaliable for constant hammering by speedtest.net users.

Right, well I guess in EOLs situation that isn't the case.. Either that or my friends connection is broken (unlikely).

In other EOL news, it's 1.30pm, - the whole office is down again. Not just us - the guys next door as well.

I'm not sure how they justify selling "Business Grade" services when their "Ultra Fast Broadband" is down more often than residential DSL connections with other providers.
