So Chorus released its plans for June 2014-2016 as per this Herald article.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10895687

The chrous maps website promptly died horribly, presumable imploding under the load?

http://www.chorus.co.nz/maps

Our site is experiencing technical difficultiesSorry you can't access our very popular Network Capability Map page. We are having server issues which are taking longer than expected to resolve.

Whoops.. someone might want to talk to them about capacity planning :-P

I'm just going to email the folks in Chorus who look after this.

Edit: Spoken with the engineer who is working on it.  Sounds bad (TM) so it may be a while.

I really hope my part of Whangaparaoa is included on that list.

It's not just that site, it's the whole CCM database.

Yep :(... I've spoken directly with the CCM developer team lead and they are well aware of it. I've given them this link so they can update everyone directly.

It appears to be going again now. We're scheduled for July 2014 to June 2015 for UFB.

I'll just have to make do with VDSL2 until then :)

Both the map on the Chorus website and CCM are back and working.

Not related to load and an unhappy coincidence that it aligned with the article in the Herald.

Thanks for your patience.

Damn, now the map is working I see that my area is not being touched at all, closest UFB is a small part in Gulf Harbour, so much for a article I read last year or so saying that Hibiscus Coast would be done quite fast due to growth.

Something else kind of interesting, the main areas that are going to be done in Whangaparaoa are only where business are.
Plaza, Manly, Gulf Harbour. Then strangely the end of Viponds road.

Its still pretty much inline with 'priority customers first'. You may find that those areas that are done are the those serviced from the exchange.
Thats the case in my area.

Personally i am fine without it.
Even when its in my area i likely wont get it installed...

wow great

UFB deployment dates for your area are still being developed

I would switch to it in a second if i could get it. Its not as if i'm in the middle of nowhere (Glenfield).

Finding it interesting that 3 suburbs around me that were listed in the herald article are still not being done according to the chorus map?

Has it not been updated yet, or is the herald article plain wrong?

The key thing is "some areas in" if you look around you will likely find its just one part of the suburb, not the whole suburb.
