Hi there

I will be moving to Auckland soon and I would like to know which ISP's I should be looking at and which ones to stay away from?

I will be mostly gaming but I will stream series also now and then.

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

I'd look at Telecom or Snap, personally.

Well it would depend what part of Auckland you are moving to and how close the house is to the local cabinet / exchange and the quality of the house wiring,

Get the above sorted first

Thank you, I will take a look, I currently have a 1Mbps ADSL connection and download about 90GB a month, I pay $58.43 for it.

I recommend Snap, I love them, best ISP i've ever used. been with them for err 7 or so years.

I'm paying $105 a month for home phone, 275GB and a static ip address. ($100 without the static ip)

They look awesome, I like that fact that you don't have to get a phone with it.

Snap has unmetered overnight data if you get an add-on data pack. I am very happy with my Snap service. Very.

Asking that sort of question is similar to the whole "which car/tv/xxxxx" do I get.... everyone has different views and opinions on providers. I personally have no issues with Orcon (I game and stream) and would happily recommend them, yet others will scream to stay away.....

Personally I find Telecom as a residential ISP pretty good, they also offer VDSL and UFB :)

It's all pretty subjective. Had good customer service from telecom. Always had excellent customer service from orcon when we were with them, but their plan changes* miffed us. Had terrible service and customer service from slingshot in the past, but that was years ago.

*had to take their phone line or voip plan. Could've stayed on an old plan, but that stings when all isps were lowering plan costs about that time.

Except the OP said they like that they didn't have to get a phone from snap, which is something that telecom are still yet to wake up and offer ;)

I like VF and the customers we have that use them are generally very happy. For more advanced features like Multiple IP's and free on-net traffic between two connections I would say Unleash or Vibe Communications.

^ This. I wouldn't go with a full uncapped ISP\plan but snap's unmetered data from 1am - 7am is just as good for our household, offering the best of both worlds. I too am extremely happy with snap.
