Hi,

So yesterday on the way to school I saw that they were digging up pits at the front of everyone's houses on a street near to my house. When I arrived at school (which was at the top of the street) they had a couple rolls of green conduit-looking stuff, with something that kinda looks like huge glad wrap but blue. Today, while driving home some houses had green pipes sticking up from the holes that they had dug.

Is this fibre?

Thanks

Actualy No its not fibre - but the ribbonet (TM) tubes that can contain blown fibre (or copper or combination of both) down the street - these tubes are then extended to the house and the fibre blown in

I had a look at the pipe/ribbonet stuff, and they had big boxes that say "Chorus" on them, so probably is UFB.

Yes its UFB, all the LFC including Chorus are "blowwing" the fibre to your place in these tubes.

I guess I have to donate some dB of attenuation to your VDSL connection
