Good morning,

In just over a week I am moving to Wadestown, Wellington. I don't know a lot, but I would love it if anyone could help me determine a reliable internet provider.

Firstly, is there some sort of interactive map that shows relative strength of internet providers in a certain area - or is that too much to ask?

The connection I believe is ADSL, not sure if it's that or ADSL2. I wouldn't know how to tell the difference.

We'll be looking at getting Naked Broadband, probably anywhere between 50gb's - unlimited (yet to be decided).

Your thoughts and/or opinions are all welcome.

In your situation there won't be any difference (can can't be) between providers due to location. Any differences come down solely to who you want to use as an ISP.

Don't worry about the ISP worry about your own setup including house wiring

You can probably get Cable in Wadestown. That limits your ISP to Vodafone, but offers a vastly superior connection than ADSL.

Something you could consider.

If UFB is available that's the best bet.

I find Snap! better than Vodafone/TC - TC routing can be fairly poor (read - slower speeds than it should be) plus customer service is often poor. I spent 45 minutes on the phone to them yesterday about getting an old cable removed from my house, the fifth person I talked to finally said I'll log a request and someone will call you back within a few days.

All depends who you can get the best deal with these days. Although some offer better support than others. Contact a few on their support lines, not their sales line, to see weekday the hold times ate like and what their support Ida like when you do get through
