Just curious whilst I wait for fibre to be installed,

when I was on the cable with Vodafone 130/10 I was averaging 17 mbps download from the USA this was over https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ over

the 8 servers in dif states, and was averaging 7.52 mbps upload over the 8 servers at different times of the day,

I notice the upload within NZ was around 9.8-10 ( and I was getting 7.52 average to the USA ) why is the upload speed so close to the NZ speed where

as the download speed is way off from 95mbps (within NZ) down to average of 17mbps to (USA)

...

now I am just curious if I am getting 100/20 Fibre now, with 20 mbps upload what sort of average upload should I see to the US ( roughly )

obviously 20 mbps Upload is within New Zealand,

will it be much different or maybe slightly,

If you are posting regarding DSL speeds please check that

you have reset your modem and router
your PC (or other PCs in your LAN) is not downloading large files when you are testing - you are not being throttled by your ISP due to going over the monthly cap
your tests are always done on an ethernet connection to the router - do not use wireless for testing
you read this topic and follow the instructions there.

Make sure you provide information for other users to help you. If you have not already done it, please EDIT your post and add this now:

Your ISP and plan
Type of connection (ADSL, ADSL2, VDSL)
Your modem DSL stats (do not worry about posting Speedtest, we need sync rate, attenuation and noise margin)
Your general location (or street)
If you are rural or urban
If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin
If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service
If you have done an isolation test as per the link above

Most of the problems with speed are likely to be related to internal wiring issues. Read this discussion to find out more about this. Your ISP is not intentionally slowing you down today (unless you are on a managed plan). Also if this is the school holidays it's likely you will notice slower than usual speed due to more users online.

A master splitter is required for VDSL2 and in most cases will improve speeds on DSL connections. Regular disconnections can be a monitored alarm or a set top box trying to connect. If there's an alarm connected to your line even if you don't have an alarm contract it may still try to connect so it's worth checking.

@Jamie1990 im sure you have asked this same question in one of the other 3-4 threads you started on this. why not use one of those threads and continue it in there? people answered all your questions, including this one, but you didnt seem to have read most of the answers.

you should see near line speed (100/20) to the west coast, but speeds on the east coast may vary depending on the route it takes. but i would expect at least half of your line speed.

Ok i see, so west coast is faster cause of the route, and east coast is slower cause it gets branched off,

with my cable 100/10 connection i was seeing 6 - 8.8 mbps to East Coast, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Washington

so it wasn't far away from the 9.5 - 10 mbps I was getting within New Zealand,

They stay open for a few months so you can keep using them

FYI this is my spark 69/27 VDSL connection to New York

I get very similar results to the other 3 places, so i would probably expect similar if not better download results and very close to 20mbps upload on a fibre connection
