Hi All,

First time poster here. I am banging my head against the wall. I have a VDSL connection. The DSL light is on, The Internet light is on but I have no internet. I rang in a fault and had chorus come out. He plugged his modem in and said "I'm getting a signal, its an ISP issue" I have tried four modems all doing the same thing. DSL light, Internet Light but you guessed it NO INTERNET!!!! Im really over it.

ANY IDEAS FROM ANYONE WOULD BE AMAZING!

Who is the ISP?

How are you connected to your modem? Wired or wirelessly?

I would check your TCP/IP settings on your PC, ensure IP address and DNS servers are set to obtain automatically:

ISP is 2talk.

I have tried to connect to the modem with the ethernet lead and wifi to both my laptop and my iphone.  2talk say they can see that the connection is up and running.

Good luck getting user support from them. If its not happening then a change of ISP may affect the level of service even if it doesn't solve the problem. The "internet light" should mean the PPP link is up, so try to login to your modem, reset to factory default and setup again. You will need your username/password.

Sometimes there is a problem with the port Chorus has it plugged into at the cabinet. Ask your ISP if they can confirm the line speed you are getting (which you saw when you logged into the modem and checked "ADSL status"), and then ask them to confirm they see the line speed go off when you unplug the modem. If they see you are still connected while your modem's off, they can ask Chorus to check its on the right port.

Time to find a new industry!

2talk use port based authentication so if they say they can see your connection is up then it is up. Also, you should see your broadband graphs (in the 2talk portal) show the connection is up to.

If you can't access the Internet that would point to badly configured lan. Have you logged in to the router admin to see what the WAN interface has acquired in terms of IP address? That will tell you what (and what isnt) is connecited rather quickly.
