Have any ISP got there own gear going in chch yet I have finally decided to ditch the telstra cable after 2 years of there poor service and looking to go back to adsl but i cant find any information on on LLU or adsl2 here.

You're a tad early... the only exchanges that have been unbundled to date are in Auckland.

However by the end of this year we hope to have all of Auckland unbundled and then around 20 exchanges in other centres and I'm sure Christchurch is high up on that list. We don't have a timetable yet (we apply to Telecom ... well, Chorus I suspect it is from here on in) as we apply to Telecom along with all the other unbundling players (basically us and Orcon at the moment) and then Telecom produces a list of exchanges that will be opened up in the quarter to follow.

It'll happen, just going to take a while. Cabinetisation aside, of course.
