Recently moved into a place with TP Fibre.

The netcomm NF15ACV modem/router it came with seems to be really patchy. Netflix would drop, infact wireless internet would drop fairly regularly, most notably during netflix streaming.

I have replaced this with a fritzbox 7360 as I had good experiences with this modem/router.

After what seemed to be a period of increased stability I am now encountering the same sorts of issues.

At what appears to be random, after a period of streaming the whole connection will drop = no internet.

Somewhat interestingly I noted that during an outage the fritzbox admin interface was not accessible. Is it possible I am having the same outage across two modem/routers?

Can any suggest any explanation/fixes.

Are you accessing the router via Ethernet or wifi?

Do you have any other routers connected and or routers that have been configured for providing wifi only?

Only via wifi, no other routers at all.

An interesting point, when I spoke to Trustpower they asked if I was using cat6 cable as they mentioned something about voltage issues with cat5 cable?

I actually went and bought a cat6 cable and when streaming video last night (off site Plex 11 mbs bitrate) there was pretty regular periods of buffering but no complete dropouts.

I also swapped back to the netcomm router for testing as it has higher bandwidth.

Sorry I don't have anything connected by ethernet.

I don't doubt you, but $3 isn't a big deal.

I agree probably I should be using ethernet, but I usually only watch netflix and the plex stream was a test only.

Everything usually works fine (with netflix) until the wifi sh*ts itself.

When your wifi drops, is it just the device you are streaming Netflix on, or are all devices dropping wifi?

With the historical drops, yes the entire network goes down, even on the Smart-tv it would report "lost connection".
