Hero.co.nz offer broadband as well as phone service.  People here seem to be saying the phone service is good and the support is better than 2Talk.  Getting everything on one bill would be nice.

Has anyone dealt with their broadband service?  Is it OK?

Hero was set up by Malcom and Ray after they exited from 2talk. They're basically just building the same business again.

Answering my own question, they do fibre only, and Auckland only.  Outside Auckland, connections are through an unnamed partner and attract a $10/month surcharge, and I guess the full run around between us, them and the partner if there's a fault.  So that's a no for us then.

And yes Ray is the CTO :-)

We use them as our secondary, and they are very accommodating and things have been pretty smooth. They are competitive enough and whilst clearly in startup mode, they are trying hard. Can't ask for more than that!
