Just recently alot of chorus vans have been working on my street, and a nice new shiney cabinet has been installed at the end of my street. It looks like all the work has been done, but thats where my questions start.
I used to sync at ADSL2+ at around 7000kbps down and around 900 up. Now just yesterday I was doing some downloading and could not figure out why I was only getting around 100k down on my downloads. So I go look into my Modem and its synced at ADSL_G.dmt.bis at about 1000kbps. So i restart the modem and it pops up to around 3000 but still no ADSL2+.
Does anyone have a larger understanding than me on what the chorus guys are actually doing? Have they just dropped my area back to ADSL while they complete all the work before they go back up to ADSL2+? I was expecting my old 7000 that I was getting when i would have been synced to the exchange to go up when the cabinets went in, not down. And considering the cabinet is about 200metres from my house I was getting excited about the potential speeds.
