Hi,

I've got some questions on fibre rollout options in Kapiti. Anyone here from Chorus that could help me for a few minutes looking some stuff up for me? Or could suggest some possible options? Please PM me directly. Thanks!!

Cheers
Oliver

Need some info on where cabinet is for VDSL around 134-144 main road north (opposite Lindale). And what future fibre Bild out plans are.

It's easiest if you look at the Chorus apps.

Ask your provider for a prequal, as you may have a long copper loop to that cabinet.

olivernz:  And what future fibre Bild out plans are.

There are no future fibre build out plans beyond UFB1 and what has been announced (and now mostly complete) as part of UFB2.

I'm sure at some point in the future we will see a UFB3 plan to cover some of the even smaller towns that have missed out of fibre as part of UFB and UFB2 but the simple reality is that's only going to be a very small percentage of properties.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I'm not sure how Starlink would change anything - real world speed results may not be too different from that VDSL2 prequal (which is potentially on the conservate side anyway), and latency will be higher.

What I really want to know is, there is no Baseband IP from that cabinet and you have a lot of elderly people who have voice only out that way, are they all going to be forced onto FWA ? or Feed BBIP from the Exchange?
