We are rural. No fibre, but copper at the gate.
We don't need landline phone. Is starlink an option ?

Starlink is now always an option,

But do you have RBI or wireless coverage?

Yes i have wireless coverage, aerial required.
But i do have copper phone line past the gate. Would that not be my first option ?

Cheers,
VDSL
Fixed and variable speeds
15-60 Mbps
Download speed
5-18 Mbps
upload.

How does that stack up ?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

The prequal came back with a big "Inconclusive!" for copper services, so there is no guarantee the broadband map result is correct. A manual prequal would be required to confirm copper service availability

Is there perhaps a WISP that covers this area? That'll be your better option if a decent one exists.

I will check with my neighbours.
Can i assume that if they are on copper and get an acceptable service from it, that I will get the same ?

go there: https://www.chorus.co.nz/tools-support/broadband-tools/broadband-checker

type in neighbours addresses and it should show you the speed they are getting if they are connected to chorus' network

Thanks for info.
What are the advantages if we went starlink.
I'm not sure what it delivers.
