There is a relatively new satellite ground station at 139 Pahiatua-Mangahao Road, Mangamutu - opposite Fonterra's Pahiatua dairy factory.

Google Street View from December 2024 shows construction in progress.

Local knowledge is yet to confirm anything.

Has anyone got any further?

Only based on the number on the road side fence which you can see in the Street View. Same number is now attached to the rails right of the 2nd photo above.
