Does my speed test looks right? I am living in Mt Eden.

Yep. Pretty normal. Are you on a 128k upload plan? Or a FS/FS plan? (If you dont know, what is the name of your plan?)

A speedtest is not to informative without seeing your modems sync rate and attenuation details. Mt Eden was upgraded to ADSL2+ that covers the major area mid last year, so your speeds could infact be very low for what you should expect.

Looks good for Go Large. As Cyril7 says, can you post some modem stats?

Hi, yes it looks right for a 160k uplink which will typically limit things to around 4-5Mb/s, you posted the sync rates, whats the attenuation and noise margin.

Hi, well your attenuation is telling us 2km of cable, which is probably correct as the cables route may not be a straight as the road route. However for that cable length I would have expected sync speeds more like 10Mb/s. The reason for this may be house wiring, you might like to explain what filters and phone sockets you have and whats connected to them.

Regardless while you are on a Fs/160k plan you will never achieve much more than around 4-5Mb/s download at best, change to Fs/Fs and you will be able to achieve near on twice what you currently have or more if you can get a higher sync rate.

It would appear that your line is infact connected to an exchange DSL port that is ADSL2+ enabled, however for some reason you are only achieving ADSL1 speeds, I suspect your house wiring may need attention. Your attenuation is roughly correct for the distance you state, but the speed is well below the 10-14Mb/s you should expect.

Hi

I am lucky to be only across the road from our exchange(about 30 metres away). Does my details on my modem reflect that? I am on telstraclear 10gb unlimited dl and 128 upload.

Hi, yes your stats do indicate you are very close to the exchange so you will acheive pretty much max speed. However I presume your modem is an old Dlink that only support ADSL1 as that is what it has chosen to connect at, or your exchange is not DSL2+ enabled, where are you approx. Also your 128k (160k) uplink speed will limit any throughput to around 4-5Mb/s so changing to ADSL2+ is a moot point anyway.

He is also on a FS/128k plan, and FS/FS plan would help, assuming his modem would support ADSL2+
