Hey all

Ok I know the RTA1320 has a def heat issue, just wondering if anyone has had the same problem with the RTA1025W?
I just picked mine up before and noticed its running very hot, not sure if the muggy weather has anything to do with it but naturally its on 24/7. Its about 2 years old also.

Thanks

Not heard of it being a biggie.

funny bodgy tip: 2 pencils just below the router means the router has a bit of air under it. I wouldn't have believed it but I tested it a couple of times, and it fixed some customers so it must be true.

I have an old US Robotics that overheats. I have a couple of cassette tapes holding it up above the desk by about a cm. Fixed it right up.

I didn't realise the RTA1320 has overheating issues. I just tested it and yea, it's hot! It's not even doing anything, it's in it's "bridge mode" with the Firewall doing all the real work.

I've just stuck a couple of matchboxes under it!

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

When i was using a RTA1320 i cut a piece out of the bottom plastic panel and that created a better air flow

Errrr, quite. I should probably empty those matches out.

my RTA1320 got so bad i cut the top out and used an old south bridge heatsink i had lying round and some thermal epoxy plus a small 40mm fan worked wonders but died anywho of unknown causes but i swear before the mod it used to get so hot you cook eggs on it

A lot of these will start dying as we head into summer.
